Lymph nodes of head and neck

Lymph nodes of the head include the parotid nodes (nodi lymphatici parotidei), which are subdivided into superficial and deep, occipital (nodi lymphatici occipitales), mastoid (nodi lymphatici mastoidei), podnizhnechelyustnye (nodi lymphatici submandibulares), chin (nodi lymphatici submentales) and facial lymph nodes.

Lymphatic vessels carry lymph occipital region to the occipital nodes. From the ear and posterior parietal and occipital regions of the lymphatic vessels of the head sent to the mastoid sites. Lymph from the forehead area of the anterior parietal and temporal regions of the eardrum, ear canal, part of the ear and part of the century goes to the parotid lymph nodes. Of these nodes efferent lymph vessels convey lymph nodes neck. In podnizhnechelyustnyh lymph nodes collected from the bones and soft tissues. In the chin lymph nodes is carried out from the lower lip and chin.

Lymph nodes in the neck are divided into anterior and lateral groups. Each of these groups, in turn, is divided into superficial and deep lymph nodes in the neck (nodi lymphatici cervicales superficiales et profundi). The front surface lymph nodes in the neck are located near the front jugular vein and focus on the superficial fascia. Front deep nodes are located next to the bodies on which they collect lymph, and have the same name (for example, predgortannye, predtrahealnye, thyroid, etc.). Group sites are deep lateral supraclavicular and retropharyngeal lymph nodes (nodi lymphatici retropharyngei), as well as front and lateral jugular nodes located around the internal jugular vein.

Deep lymph nodes in the neck from the cavity take the nose, mouth, pharynx and middle ear, which first passes through the occipital nodes. Lymphatic vessels in speaking the language ends lymph nodes (nodi lymphatici linguales). From the language of the lymph nodes come in and chin podnizhnechelyustnye nodes, and then - in the retropharyngeal and deep cervical nodes. From the deep cervical nodes begin limfatiche-skie vessels that pass on each side and the accompanying internal jugular vein. These vessels form the right and left jugular trunks (tranci jugulares dexter et sinister). Left empties into the thoracic duct, and right - the right lymphatic duct.
