Pineal body

Pineal body (corpus pineale) is an unpaired gland, located in the longitudinal fissure between the upper plate bumps under the roof of the midbrain thickening of the corpus callosum. Its weight is 0.25 g. With the leash is connected to the pineal gland the thalamus.

The Authority is divided into sections, delimited from each other by partitions formed by connective tissue. Each segment contains a large amount of supply of blood vessels.
