Left atrium

From peredneverhney wall of the left atrium (atrium sinistrum) moves the left ear (auricula sinistra), covering the beginning of the pulmonary trunk. In the posterior part of the upper wall are four pulmonary veins openings (ostia venatum pulmonalium), which supply the left atrium into the cavity of the arterial blood from the lungs . At the bottom wall is left atrio-ventricular orifice (ostium atrioventriculare sinistrum), through which the left atrium communicates with the left ventricle. Fastened around the hole left atrioventricular, or mitral, valve (valva atrioventricularis sinistra, v. mitralis).

In contrast, the right valve it is formed by two wings, which, as well as the tricuspid valve are attached to papillary muscles.
